Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman holds an distinguished chair in psychology in the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name has been recognized for pioneering the study of eyewitness testimony and child witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman is the author of numerous publications and many grants, is also the recipient of a variety of international and national distinctions. She has consulted with various countries and agencies around the world on policies and research on children's victimization within the court system. She is also a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center), of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a member of the Psychonomics Society, the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has been president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division, as well as three Divisions: the Child and Family Practice and Policy Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
